E. Stanley Kroenke knows how to shop: The mall developer, who is married to Wal-Mart Stores (nyse: WMT - news - people ) heir Ann Walton Kroenke, bought the Avalanche in 2000 for $202 million. Unfortunately, he didn't do as well with the Nuggets. He spent $202 million on that team as well.
